Decentralized Control Using the Hierarchical Interface-based Supervisory Control Approach

چکیده
The Hierarchical Interface-Based Supervisory Control (HISC) framework was proposed to address challenges inherent in modeling the behavior of large, complex systems. Such systems are often characterized by decentralized or distributed architectures, where agents have only a partial view of the system behavior and cooperate to achieve the control objective, aspects unsupported by HISC. We introduce the Hierarchical Interface-Based Decentralized Supervisory Control (HIDSC) framework that extends HISC to decentralized control. In decentralized control, the speci cation must satisfy a property called coobservability. The veri cation of co-observability requires the (possibly intractable) construction of the complete system. To adapt this property for HIDSC, we propose a per-component de nition of co-observability along with a veri cation strategy that does not require the construction of the complete system. We provide and prove the necessary and su cient conditions for supervisor existence in this new framework and illustrate our approach with an example.

Optimal Non-blocking Decentralized Supervisory Control Using G-Control Consistency
Supervisory control synthesis encounters with computational complexity. This can be reduced by decentralized supervisory control approach. In this paper, we define intrinsic control consistency for a pair of states of the plant. G-control consistency (GCC) is another concept which is defined for a natural projection w.r.t. the plant. We prove that, if a natural projection is output control cons...

In this paper, the application of the Hierarchical Interface-based Supervisory Control method to controlling a large scale manufacturing example is presented adopting a layered organizational hierarchy of a factory. The generic and easily maintainable implementation using programmable logic controllers, a personal computer and TCP/IP over Ethernet for communication is explained in detail. To as...

This work considers a hierarchical control architecture for a class of discrete event systems which can also be applied to decentralized control systems. It is shown that nonblocking supervisory control on the high level of the hierarchy results in nonblocking and hierarchically consistent control on the low level. Copyright c ©2005 IFAC
متن کاملHierarchical interface-based supervisory control using the conflict preorder
Hierarchical Interface-Based Supervisory Control decomposes a large discrete event system into subsystems linked to each other by interfaces, facilitating the design of complex systems and the re-use of components. By ensuring that each subsystem satisfies its interface consistency conditions locally, it can be ensured that the complete system is controllable and nonblocking. The interface cons...
متن کاملDecentralized Supervisory Control Using Dynamic Default Control
The conventional decentralized supervisory control architectures for discrete event systems assume that default control of controllable events is static. In this paper, we propose a new decentralized supervisory control architecture using dynamic default control of controllable events. We present necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a decentralized supervisor in the proposed...
